Room 10

A Play by the Fish Reading Group
This group put their shared talents together and did the play of  The Three Little Pigs all by themselves.  That included making the puppets, the background scene, and working cooperatively to practice their parts and perform the play in front of two classes.  CONGRATULATIONS!  FANTASTIC JOB!

Story Sequencing with
The Three Little Pigs

We enjoyed retelling this tale to our buddy class, putting the events in order,
and then building houses of all kinds for our own little pigs.
We have also been using sequential order when we write recounts, using some of these words....
first, at the beginning, next, then, after that, finally

Icy August Mornings in Silverstream

ART - Our Eric Carle Style Birds
After experimenting with colours, mixing, tinting and shading, and texture with paint we created our own paper and made these amazing birds.  They look spectacular hanging up in Room 10.

Who can skip count by 2s?
We have been singing along with this clip from Mr R.

Mrs Thom brought her pets to school.

 Super Heroes
Some are make believe, but others work at our school and help us at times of need.
These are our Silverstream School Super Heroes.

A Trip to Staglands
The weather held off and we ventured out to visit some animals and see their habitats.
A HUGE Thank You to all of the fantastic parents that came along with us!

Pink T-Shirt Day
Everyone is unique, special and important.
We recorded our ideas of how to respect, encourage and include others at school.
Come in and read them.

Have you seen our incredible self portraits?
First we explored symmetry, shape, and how to draw faces. Then we used a mirror and drew our eyes, nose and mouth on our planning sheet.  Finally, we put it all together and added fabric for our clothing and wool to make our hair.

Sort It Out!
After we read the letter from Mr Trevean about having too much rubbish at school we decided to investigate.  We sorted, classified, and discovered how much rubbish we have from one day at school in just two classrooms.  Now we can try to bring less rubbish / packaging and to recycle more.  We are collecting our fruit and veggie scraps daily for the Green Streamers to add to the worm farms at school.  We sent Mr Trevean a letter in return with some of our fantastic ideas of what we can all do to help our school and our planet Earth.

Discovery Time - Let's create and reuse boxes, bottles, bags, and more.

Check out our Fancy Feet!

The children in Room 10 have had an incredible start to the school year!

Learning is FUN with Dr Seuss!
We celebrated his birthday with Room 7
and the Cat in the Hat, too.

In Maths we have been finding different ways to make 10.
